Your opportunity
As a Software Engineer, you’ll be reporting to the Principal Engineer, Signal Processing Department, and will be responsible for responsible for helping to shape a range of different software products. Working side by side with people who go the extra mile, you’ll also love the feeling of helping those who need us. Here’s how you’ll do it:
- – Develop innovative software to enhance NAL’s software portfolio, driving the advancement of our software solutions to improve the lives of people with hearing loss
- – Actively participate in user discovery, ideation, and user testing processes to create products tailored to real-world needs and optimise the user experience
- – Maintain, enhance and support existing software products, ensuring their continued reliability, adapting them to emerging needs and technologies, and helping technology companies integrate them into their own software systems or adopt them as stand-alone products
- – Contribute to the complete product development lifecycle, from requirement analysis and design to implementation and unit/system testing
- – Collaborate with cross-functional teams, sharing your expertise and learning from others
- -Perform other duties to support the team, commensurate with the level of this position, as required, demonstrating adaptability and a collaborative spirit
What you’ll bring
We believe the successful candidate will have a proven track record of successfully designing, developing, testing, delivering and supporting commercial products. You’ll bring:
- – Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science or related discipline
- – Minimum 3 years’ experience in software engineering
- – Demonstrated ability to perform rapid prototyping based on stakeholder input
- – Proficiency in Windows application development (C++/C# and .NET framework)
- – Proficiency in Android development (Java or Kotlin)
- – Strong understanding of Android frameworks and APIs
- – Experience with cloud storage solutions, such as Google Firebase or AWS
- – Excellent skills in software documentation, version control (e.g. Azure DevOps, Git), unit testing and system testing.
- – Experience with web technologies (HTML/CSS/JavaScript)
- – Experience with machine learning and AI (Python)
- – Experience with Design Thinking and innovative development tools
- – Strong problem-solving skills, with a knack for finding creative solutions to technical hurdles
- – Capability to learn and master new technologies quickly
