NAL uncovers unmet needs of people with hearing loss during the pandemic and releases rapid evidence-based solutions. A year and a half into the pandemic, mask-wearing remains an essential part of everyone’s lives. NAL took a design thinking approach to uncover the unmet needs of people with hearing loss during the pandemic and rapidly iterated on solutions to those needs. In this video, NAL Director Dr. Brent Edwards describes the research into unmet needs and the subsequent electroacoustic and behavioural research that led to the first of its evidence-based solutions: recommendations to clinicians on how to help their clients better hear those wearing masks.
