Pelle is a psycholinguist and speech scientist with a passion for languages, linguistics, music and neuroscience. Before taking on his role as Senior Research Scientist in Paediatric Hearing Loss at NAL, Pelle worked with Distinguished Professor Anne Cutler at the MARCS Institute for Brain, Behaviour and Development, Western Sydney University, as well as with the Neurolinguistics Laboratory at Lund University, Sweden, led by Professor Mikael Roll. His interests span a number of languages and areas of linguistics, from morphology and syntax to prosody and lexical processing, focusing particularly on predictive mechanisms which are important for speech perception from infancy to adulthood. The main aim of Pelle’s research at NAL is to help develop and improve brain-based tools for diagnosing and managing hearing loss in children.
