The National Acoustic Laboratories (NAL) is the research division of Australian Hearing, a Statutory Authority under the Commonwealth Department of Human Services. Most of the research at NAL is performed as a Community Service Obligation partly funded by the Commonwealth Department of Health and Ageing. Additional funding is obtained from grants and from commercialization of some inventions. The results of this research are published in leading scientific journals, presented at national and international conferences and reported in the NAL Research and Development Annual Reports.
