Current Research Projects
Engineering Development
An important part of NAL's work is to perform technological development that makes tools and devices available to clinicians.
Current projects concerned with engineering development include:
- Automatic ABR Audiometer
This project devises and implements software that will enable audiograms on sleeping patients to be obtained with a single button press, and in less clinical time than is now needed. - HearLab Commercialisation Support
Aims to ensure that HearLab makes the transition from a laboratory prototype to a manufactured device, with appropriate regulatory approvals. Read More > - Implantable Microphone Feasibility
Aims to provide a microphone suitable for implanting under the skin. - Improved Bone Conductor for Hearing Aids - Phase 2
Aims to design a bone vibrator motor that can be used in a bone conduction hearing aid with improved comfort and that is safer than current models without excessive decrease in performance. Read More >
