From DSP Technology to User Benefits

Each part of a DSP based hearing aid system has to be carefully addressed in order to provide maximum benefit to the hearing impaired. The hearing aid itself needs to be designed in such a way that inherent advantages of DSP technology are transformed into benefits. Fitting rationales and access to fine tuning must be available according to the acousticians' needs, and the user must likewise either get a completely reliable "plug and play" instrument or easy access to controls for minor adjustments during the day. With regards to systems that Bernafon will introduce this autumn/spring, the various principles to be applied to the design of digital hearing aids, the fitter interface, and controls for the hearing impaired will be presented.
